a letter from matthew

Greetings, friends, Romans, and countrymen! It's been a while since you've heard anything from 2AM, and it's likely been a while since you've heard anything about 2AM as well. August 2, 2008 will be the fifth anniversary of our debut performance, so I'm happy to inform you that there is no time like the present for us to resume our musical activities!

We are currently working on our upcoming album, Dirt Road, Volume II, a full-length follow-up to Optical Delusions; we hope to have it out to you fine folks by this coming summer. One of our last public performances was last summer for the July 4th celebration in Lorton, Virginia; we will be returning to play once again this summer at the Lorton Town Center for the same occasion. But that's not all, folks!

2AM has found a new bassist: the ridiculously-talented Matt Zapp. Matt is a TIMARA (Technology in Music and Related Arts) major at the Oberlin Conservatory, and a versatile musician on many instruments. He will join us through the year as we plan our first summer tour! His debut performance with the band took place on March 15, 2008.

In conclusion, folks, 2AM is back with a vengeance. There will be brand new music for you to enjoy, and plenty of exciting live performances for you to experience, in no time at all. I can proudly say, once again, that 2AM is now.

Peace,
Matthew
(I can't very well sign it "Matt" anymore, can I?)
